Dee Dee (Donna) Doell studied dance locally under Richard France in The Tucson Civic Ballet and France Theater of
Ballet, George Zoritch, Jose Valenzuela, Dina Raker Rosenbaum, Stephanie Stigers in the Tucson Dance Gallery and
Western Ballet Theater, Ellen Ray, Rita Wolgemuth, Dolores Mitrovich, Neil Cowhey in the Original Theater Dance
Company, Frances Smith Cohen, Sandra Knoll Hammond, and Lil Liandre.
She began her early training in New York City, and studied under internationally known master teachers: George Zoritch, Rudolph Nureyev,
Bela Karoly, Natalia Krassovska, Delfino Larrossa, Alonso King, and Kelly Browne. Dee Dee has also studied
tap in an intensive setting with Gene Kelly and Gregory Hines, and locally with Richard France, Ellen Ray and
Neil Cowhey.
In addition to choreographing and directing all the ballet productions for A Time to Dance Youth Ballet and
Dancing for the Lord, teaching ballet, jazz and tap at A Time to Dance, Dee Dee has also taught dance and
choreographed in many academic, studio and recreational settings since the age of 16.
At 16, while still in high school, Dee Dee choreographed for The Poor Man’s Theater at Salpointe Catholic High School, where she was Dance Captain.
She was a choreographer for the Original Theater Dance Company under Neil Cowhey, presenting her first full length
ballet at the age of 30, “The Awakening of Women” in 1985. She was choreographer for Shakespeare in the Park in
Tucson from 1991-95, and for community theater events. Dee Dee graduated from the University of Arizona with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1977 with minors in chemistry, mathematics, religious studies, and dance
(under George Zoritch). Secondary education major added in 1978. Course work for a full fine arts major completed
in 2002. Founded Dancing for the Lord in 1994, and A Time to Dance Studio in 1996.

Dancing For The Lord |

Founded in 1994, a dance worship troupe designed to express the love of God through dance.
This troupe is an intergenerational group of dancers at the intermediate level and higher in ballet.
This troupe dances locally at churches during services and other settings at no charge( donations are accepted).
